With the installation manual of electric wire rope hoist, the client successfully finished the work and next is the wire connection. According to wire diagram, all the connections are seems no problem, client feedback that hoist traveling is normal, but the lifting motor has no action.
DONGQI CRANE technically advise to check the wire connections and test each point of wires to make sure it is connected with power, unfortunately, this solution doesn’t take effect; Electrical engineer gave suggestion to connect the lifting motor with the general power source directly to test the motor itself, but it is not easy to do this, because the hoist has been installed on the building(DONGQI CRANE sincerely advise to assembly and do commissioning of all the parts before mounting the hoist, it is easier to do adjustment at ground). At last, DONGQI CRANE shares the third solution: to check the power cable size, after confirm with client, DONGQI CRANE judge that the power cable size is too small to support the hoist lifting, take replace of the small size cable by bigger one, the lifting motor returns to normal condition.
This is a very typical electric wire rope hoist installation case, if clients choose to install the hoist by themselves, we must stress again that repeat testing and commissioning is very necessary especially for wire connections.
Low headroom electric hoist is very popular with clients who has very limit space in their workshops, it can improve the lifting height and take full use of workshop space, with similar European design, low headroom electric hoist has very good performance during operation, but lower price comparing with European hoist, higher performance comparing with ordinary CD hoist, therefore, it is the first option among clients.
But there is one very important point: low headroom electric wire rope hoist is not balanced, there will be some steel scrap delivery with the hoist, some clients maybe don’t know this, when they see the scrap, they think it is the waste, and throw away, these scrap are balance weight for the hoist, it is used for level the other side, to make the hoist stable, the weight of the scrap is measured before delivery.
The scrap can also be replaced by stones, so if the scrap is thrown away, stones are the best replacement.
Overload limiter Is part of the electrical connection, it should be installed according to the manual and the position is general on top of the wire ropes, after installation, correct commissioning is very important, or it will show wrong figures to lead to danger. Correct commissioning method is to make the empty hook 1m from the ground and reset the overload limiter to Zero position, then following operation is safe and in order.
