Overhead traveling cranes are primarily divided into two groups based upon the design of the bridge with the overhead crane: Top running overhead crane and underhung overhead crane. Top running overhead travelling crane is much heavier than under hung equipment. For top-running systems, the end trucks are supported on rails, which are attached to the top of the crane runway. Besides, as the best and efficient lifting solution in large coverage facility, top running overhead crane or bridge crane can be designed in both single girder, double or box girder, there are enough options to suit your demands.
Underslung overhead travelling cranes offer solutions in applications where gantry tracks are fitted to ceilings rather than free-standing or building columns. Optimal side approach dimensions make it possible to use the maximum available building width.
Overhead travelling crane is applied so widely on different occasions and it plays very important role in lifting and transferring different kinds of goods. To lift different materials, the crane is always equipped with different hook device; when it is used to lift bulk good, grab is usually adopted; when it is used to lift metals, electromagnetic chunk is used; for lifting other kinds of goods or materials, hook or other device is used.
